Cashier Job Description

A Pure Tacos Cashier must perform the following tasks well:

  • » Handle and count money. Because the Cashier is handling the final payment, he or she must be able to recognize, count and input cash payments, as well as register credit card payments.
  • » Juggle multiple customers effectively. The Cashier must work extremely quickly to avoid becoming a bottleneck. As a result, he or she may be accepting a credit card payment from one customer, taking a cash payment from another, all the while a few others are waiting in line to pay.
  • » Substitute for line crew. The Cashier will likely be switching roles multiple times during the day.
  • » Love to interact with people. If you can make a person comfortable with a smile and thank you, you are already well prepared for this job. When accepting the customer's payment, the Pure Tacos Cashier is the last person a customer encounters. As a result, it is imperative that the cashier can register a payment quickly and efficiently, with the customer leaving satisfied and excited about his or her food.
Qualifications: Speaking and reading English, quick basic math and counting skills, great character and cheery disposition. Must be able to lift heavy objects periodically and work in a fast paced, hot and sometimes stressful kitchen. The Cashier will also be trained to perform duties of the Line Crew and as a result, a love of serving great food is a big plus.
